Soul Campaign App

[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Zero
Age: Kind of dicey in world where your years are 20xx and 21xx. I will say chronologically more than 100 years and looks about 17-20
Gender: Male
Canon: Mega Man X series up to X5
Timeline: Immediately after his ending in X5

Background:
http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Zero

Personality:

Zero is a robot colored in red armor, a color of aggression and power. He certainly embodies those qualities although not in the way his makers originally intended.

He is built for fighting, from his arm canons to his beam saber. Power him up in his games and he becomes a lethal killing machine against any enemies in his way. His outlook in his many missions is the same. Focus on the goal, eliminate anything that tries to impede that goal. It's not really about defending the unknown masses. They are certainly why he does a lot of what he does, but they might as well be data to him. He is not a person to want to fight someone for the sake of justice or because of some ingrained code of honor. What's more important are people that are right in front of him that need protecting. If it's a comrade in danger, Zero will be right there to help out.

As a highly ranked fighter in the Maverick Hunters, Zero is well respected for his battle prowess. Unfortunately he can be pretty blunt to a lot of people, which might make him seem standoffish and cold. He certainly can be pretty unsympathetic to those who don't take the situation seriously. He doesn't have time for people who screw around on the job. As Zero has constantly been on various missions for years, he doesn't have any grasp of leisure time. It would certainly grate on his sense of needing to be focused all the time to suddenly not have that immediate task that needed to be done.

However, Zero can unbend at times when certain situations call for it. For those who are trying their best but are still new to whatever combat situation is occurring, he encourages them to try more. They shouldn't aim so high at the start, but should work on improving themselves until one day they could be as good a fighter as he is.

With regard to protecting people, Zero will do whatever it takes, even self-destructing himself to give a friend a chance, piloting a shuttle to destroy a space station from falling on the Earth or using the last scraps of energy to fire one last shot at a hated enemy. Although such actions might seem suicidal, Zero is never reckless in his actions. Rather, they seem like extensions of focusing on the goal. He gives a second to study the situation and if doing something that could end his life would help someone else achieve victory over an enemy, he takes that course without hesitation.

Zero can exist just fine on his own merits, not really needing anyone close to him. However, because of the people he did get close to, they shaped his personality into what it is.

X was the person he encouraged to try harder in his goals. Because of that, X became less of a burden and more of a true partner to Zero, fighting alongside him in countless missions. That friendship helped Zero care more about what was near him and give him focus for something outside of constantly fighting. A close friend is one of the few things that could make him unbend and also one of the few things he's willing to give his life for to protect.

Iris was the second of closest friends made in his life. She became a partner of sorts in one of his missions, directing him along the way. However, she was a sibling of someone labeled a Maverick and Zero ignored her wishes and took down her brother. Enraged, she transformed her body into a fighting machine. Zero's sense of protecting those closest to him and eliminating all enemies tangled up into a fatal conclusion that left her dead by his hand. Because of this, Zero has been very reluctant to care about anyone else that deeply and ended up not confiding in anyone else.

Most of all, his ultimate hated enemy Sigma has brought out the best and worst in Zero. Sigma's destruction is always Zero's focus. He is always fighting to bring the Maverick down and to stop him from taking over all reploids. In turn, after Sigma reveals horrifying revelations about that kind of robot he was meant to be and trying to turn him into an ally, Zero fights this tooth and nail to the bitter end. He never wants to give Sigma the satisfaction for how badly his worldview has been shattered. In his last moments (or so he thought at the time), if he was going down, Sigma was coming with him.

Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?

Zero is a force of nature when he's on his way subduing Mavericks. It's likely that he'd consider kishin eggs to be like Mavericks – individuals who have gone corrupt and need to be destroyed. That's a familiar scenario to him. Since he's not expected to be in charge of anyone except himself and his potential partner this time, he'd participate in the war, but just stick to protecting what's in front of him or any allies he makes in Death City.

He might join the Watch in time if he talks more to humans. He's used to reploids and humans were mostly a group to be guarded instead of hanging around with. Depending on the age of the people he hangs out with, he might join SEES too.

Considering the situation he came from, he'd be surprised to be alive and activated. Slowly as he realized there would be no repeat of a virus attacking anyone, he would decide that he'd been given a second chance to fight for a good cause and to protect a partner. He might even start to lighten up in slow degrees, although he'll still be pretty blunt in how he approaches people.

List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:
As Zero is a robot and not a human, he'd be stronger than a human. You wouldn't want to be kicked by him! But of course he's not going to be able to punch a building in half. He can also climb walls of buildings by repeatedly jumping up against them.

Because Zero has to process energy somehow and Death City isn't rolling in energy tanks, Zero will be able to process food for energy

List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
Zero will be free of any connection to the Maverick virus but he'll lose all his many upgrades including his sword and buster. So he can't dash like a madman in the air and everywhere. Also, he will lose the ability to process refined energy cells to keep his own system in tact, relying food for a less efficient system.

[ WEAPON ] or [ MEISTER ]
Weapon

Soul Description:

defiant, fierce, hurt, merciless, protective, encouraging

Zero's soul is a light blue sphere with a streak of lightning always corkscrewing around inside. Framing the soul is his red pointy headgear and his yellow ponytail of hair.

(Weapon Form) / Ability:

Zero's Weapon Form his Beam Saber. It looks a lot like a light saber but when it's being slashed around in the air, the surface area of the blade (made of energy) stretches to that of a heavy scimitar. The blade part isn't retractable, just it varies in size depending on what the user does in combat.

When there's a high enough resonance with a Meister, the Meister can dash along the ground and into the air in an uppercut with the Beam Saber, hacking away through defenses with multiple hits. Obviously, this can't be done indefinitely as it will tax the resonance with each use.

[ SAMPLES ]

First-Person

(Zero stared at the mirror, holding one of his hands on his chin.)

I don't understand how this is possible. So if everything I've heard is the truth, this BREW program has brought me here where -everyone- has a chance to go Maverick? Not just reploids? And it's not a virus? It's a force like the wind?

I know how to fight someone if their program goes awry. I am in the highest class of Maverick Hunters. (Hard fought every step of the way!) But how do you fight against something like Madness?

(He knows it's not possible, being in a completely different world, but he has to try.) Also, has anyone seen any other Maverick Hunters here? Their names are X, Alia and Signas. If you guys are out there, let me know, okay? (He then shuts off his communicator)

Third-Person
The first thing Zero was aware of that he was aware of anything at all. His internal systems came online. He started awake at the revelation and at the sound of his feet dragging across the floor. Hunh? Someone had repaired his body? The body that had been blown to near nothing?

Feeling nervous as to who could possibly do such a thing, he patted himself down, trying to make sure everything was still where it should be. A cursory inspection revealed that whoever had repaired him had left out a few key pieces. He could no longer form an arm cannon with just an internal command. His beam saber was no longer to be found and in examining his feet, several key parts for acceleration had been removed. He wasn't going to be moving fast any time soon.

What kind of place was this anyway? It wasn't a sleeping chamber. It looked like a human tomb. He started again as the vid screen popped to life. Zero grabbed for his saber which of course was no longer there. He tuned out the words of the vid screen as they didn't mean anything to him, until they started talking about kishin eggs and monsters and where they came from.

So people are going Maverick here, he thought. For a sick moment, Zero thought it could have been his fault, that the virus – Maverick, Sigma, Zero or otherwise – had infected people. But no, this was a war going on way before he ever teleported here.

Maybe this program found me because they needed a Maverick Hunter, he decided to himself. It would make sense. He had to have died in that last fight with Sigma. X...X had to have been saved. He'd be far safer away from him. So...maybe the BREW program took his body and repaired it the best he could and hoped for reactivation? Maybe.

Well. No use standing around here. He'd have to talk to someone to find out more about this war.

Notes
I was told that because Zero is a robot, he would naturally be stronger than a person, but obviously he still can't leap tall buildings in a single bound or punch a hole through a car or anything.
